28. Grow me the money awards

Monday, April 19, 2010

In March 2010, Able Plastics received an Award for Action, from Grow Me The Money, an initiative set up by VECCI, Sustainability Victoria and the EPA.   http://growmethemoney.com.au/

The five thousand dollar prize money is greatly appreciated and has been earmarked to be used for research into the use of reclaimed plastics in steel furnaces.

This is a process developed by  Veena Sahajwalla, New Inventors panellist (ABC TV)  and Associate Dean, Faculty of Science and Director of the Centre for Sustainable Materials at the University of NSW. Veena has commercialised the system with reclaimed car tyres.

Able Plastics are working with its larger clients to reclaim plastic waste which they are then seeking to use in Veena's process.
